Taipei time zone
All start, end, and freeze times use Asia/Taipei (UTC+8). Cross-midnight window membership is governed by the activity’s start and end timestamps — not by when the server received the sync.
Race week does not score
Running distance from Dec 14–20 does not enter cumulative mileage or ranking, so pre-race taper does not warp the board.
No backfills after close
Activities added or backfilled after Dec 13 23:59 do not change the Dec 14 frozen snapshot.
- Period: 2026-10-12 00:00 – 2026-12-13 23:59 (Asia/Taipei), 9 weeks.
- Mileage: Only successfully synced activities typed as Run count (including treadmill if type=Run and sync succeeds). Walk, ride, swim, and other types do not count.
- Cross-midnight: An activity falls in the challenge window based on its start/end timestamps, not server-received time.
- Tie-break: If cumulative mileage is equal, the earlier server-received time of the qualifying activity that established that mileage wins.
- Race week: Runs from 2026-12-14 through 2026-12-20 do not count toward the leaderboard.
- Leaderboard: Public leaderboard opt-in must remain active through freeze to stay eligible; opting out forfeits prize eligibility.
- Prizes: NexRex Pro for 1 year (40 seats). Ranks 1–10: all winners. Ranks 11–50: draw 20. Ranks 51–100: draw 10.
- Lottery: On 2026-12-14 we freeze a leaderboard snapshot and draw with a fixed RNG seed. The draw is logged and reproducible. Opted-out, test/demo, and violating accounts are excluded.
- Fulfillment: Winners are notified by push and in-app mailbox; Pro is auto-enabled for one year (no code).
- Terms: nexrex.ai/terms/ · support@nexrex.ai. Rex is an AI assistant, not a coach.
Challenge rules and lottery fine print are draft copy pending final legal review (NCM-10).
Only synced running activities
The leaderboard uses cumulative distance from running activities synced to NexRex inside the challenge window. Walk, bike, gym, and other sport types do not count.
Counts
Distance from activities typed as Run that sync successfully, ranked by cumulative kilometers. Treadmill counts when the activity type is Run and sync succeeds.
- Outdoor / road runs
- Treadmill: counts when activity type is Run and sync succeeds
- Completed, non-deleted activities
Does not count
Non-running types or activities outside the challenge window do not affect ranking.
- Walk, bike, swim, and similar
- Race week Dec 14–20
- Test / demo account activity
Ranking
Highest cumulative running distance wins. Same mileage (tie-break): earlier server-received time of the qualifying activity wins.
- Public leaderboard updates live
- Dec 14 freeze is final
- Displayed in kilometers (km)
- Tie-break: earlier server-received time of the qualifying activity

Automatic top tier

Frozen snapshot + fixed seed, reproducible
On 2026-12-14 (Asia/Taipei) we freeze the public leaderboard snapshot and run a seeded, reproducible draw: 20 winners from ranks 11–50 and 10 from ranks 51–100. Re-running the same snapshot and seed yields the same winners. An audit log is retained. Accounts that opted out of the public board, test/demo accounts, and accounts found in violation are excluded from the pool.
Public leaderboard only
You must join and stay on the public leaderboard to be prize-eligible. Opting out, test accounts, or Terms violations remove eligibility.
Public leaderboard opt-in
Agree to appear on the public challenge board to stay eligible and enter lottery tiers.
Valid runner account
A real personal account in active use; sync sources must be verifiable by NexRex.
Test / demo accounts
Internal, demo, or clearly non-training accounts are excluded.
Opt-out or violations
Leaving the public board ends eligibility; inflated, forged, or abusive activity does too.
Feed visibility follows your settings
The challenge board shows mileage and rank fields. Your activity feed still follows your personal privacy settings and is not forced public by joining.
Leaderboard fields
The public board may show display name, rank, and cumulative running mileage. It does not publish private notes, heart-rate detail, or posts you did not authorize.
Feed privacy unchanged
Your feed visibility (public / followers / only you) stays as you set it; the challenge does not override those settings.
Frequently asked questions
Is this an official Taipei Marathon event?
No. It is a NexRex self-run training challenge — not an official event and not affiliated with the organizers. We use “prep for Taipei Marathon” as context only, without official marks or co-brand lockups.
Do I need a Taipei Marathon bib?
Eligibility is the public in-app leaderboard. Race registration is not checked on this page. Built for runners prepping Taipei, but App rules govern.
How is mileage counted? Do walk or bike count?
Only running activities synced to NexRex count. Walk, bike, and other sports do not. Treadmill counts when the activity type is Run and sync succeeds. Race-week runs (Dec 14–20) also do not count. Window membership uses the activity’s start/end timestamps, not server received time.
How are ties broken when mileage is the same?
Earlier server-received time of the qualifying activity wins.
Does a run that crosses midnight count?
Yes or no is decided by the activity’s start and end timestamps for window membership — not by when the server received the sync.
Do treadmill runs count?
Yes when the activity type is Run and sync succeeds.
How is the lottery fair?
On 2026-12-14 (Asia/Taipei) we freeze the public leaderboard snapshot and run a seeded, reproducible draw: 20 from ranks 11–50 and 10 from ranks 51–100. Same snapshot + seed re-runs yield the same winners; an audit log is retained. Opted-out, test/demo, and violating accounts are excluded. Fine print remains pending final legal review.
How do winners get Pro?
On Dec 14 winners get push and in-app inbox notice; Pro for one year auto-activates on the account — no redemption code.
Can I win if I leave the public board?
No. Opting out of the public leaderboard forfeits challenge eligibility, even if your mileage would have ranked.
Will others see my activity feed?
Feed visibility follows your privacy settings. Leaderboard fields are public competition data (e.g. display name and cumulative mileage).
Should I update the App?
Please update to the latest (8.3.5+) for countdown and full race UI; older builds may show an empty leaderboard before start. You can also open nexrex://race/tw-2026-taipei-marathon.
Will Rex build my training plan?
Rex is your AI assistant and can help with training context; this challenge is a mileage leaderboard, not an official training camp.
Ready for ten weeks to race?
